A conference to motivate the alumni of Hunan's universities to return to Hunan was convened in Changsha on November 20, 2024, bringing together over 300 alumni from the region. Distinguished attendees included representatives of Fortune 500 enterprises, financial investment institutions, alumni entrepreneurs, academicians, overseas Chinese, and international students. During the event, Mao Weiming, Deputy Secretary of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Hunan Province, extended a warm welcome and heartfelt gratitude to the outstanding alumni on behalf of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and the People's Government of Hunan Province.
At the conference, a list of achievements under the conference was unveiled, with several significant projects signed on-site. Among them, Hunan University of Science and Technology announced a milestone achievement—the establishment of DPB Education Fund. This fund, generously donated by Mr. Deng Pibing, Honorary Chairman of Cambodian Hunan Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of DPB Foundation, and a 1999 alumnus of the School of Physics and Electronics at Hunan University of Science and Technology, stands as a testament to his profound social responsibility, unwavering commitment to his alma mater, and dedication to the advancement of education and talent development.
DPB Education Fund aims to reward outstanding students and faculty members of Hunan University of Science and Technology, support the creation of student innovation studios, and enhance the teaching, research, and administrative capacities of the School of Physics and Electronics. This initiative not only provides an improved academic development platform for students and teachers but also fosters the cultivation of innovative talents and the sustainable development of high-quality education.
